The Development Manager manages the fundraising activities of the organization, working closely with the Managing Director and Development Director and programming staff. The position can be based anywhere in the United States with a strong preference for San Diego, CA or Washington DC. The position is newly created and allows for flexible schedules and ability to work from home (30 – 40 hours per week). There are no benefits at this time. Responsibilities: Support Fundraising Activities:
• Lead donor stewardship, donor database, prospect management and launch direct mail programs.

Books on Bases Program Manager:
The Books on Bases (BOB) Program Manager is a 20-hour a week key member of the BSF Program team. S/he is responsible for the planning, implementation and execution of the programs goals at both the chapter and national level. The BOB Program Manager supports the Program team’s annual program plan while working to support and empower BSF Chapter Directors and members at the local level.
Essential Duties Include:
• Responsible for all daily operations of the program.
• Adhere to the annual program calendar (PCM) and ensure program goals are met by coordinating the program implementation.
• Promote program participation in the community; interface with military impacted schools, CDC and base libraries.
• Manage and recruit new partners and publishers to expand the reach of the program
• Expand the program through creative ideas, collaboration with national staff and creation of tools, resources and lesson plans.
• Responsible for updating and modifying all program materials including training, standard operating procedures, marketing and tools.
• Work closely with the Deputy Directors Membership to achieve goals of the program, to increase participation in the program, increase BSF membership and to coordinate events across the country
• Work with the Communications team to help develop PR and marketing materials for the program; help develop media publicity for the program
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Perform other tasks as mutually agreed
Required:
• Dynamic leader with excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for making a difference in the military family community
• Ability to work and succeed independently in a geographically dispersed, “virtual” organization
• Familiarity with military culture, lifestyle, organizational structure and terminology
• Extensive experience with advance features of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suite
• 4 Year Degree – education requirements can be substituted by relevant volunteer/work experience and partial undergraduate study.
Desired:
• Experience in early education and/or managing a literacy program.
• Experience in Program Management and Development a plus.
• Experience in public relations, including drafting press releases and contacting media outlets.
• Proficient in using Social Marketing tools like Blogs, Facebook and Twitter.

Airway Transportation System Specialist

NATURE OF THE WORK

Airway Transportation Specialists (ATSS), FV-2101-F/H, maintain electronic equipment and lighting aids associated with facilities and services required for aviation navigation to assure reliable, safe, and smooth flow of air traffic. This involves work with radar, communications, computers, navigational aids, airport lighting aids, and electrical/mechanical support for facilities on and off airports within the network of National Airspace System (NAS). It includes periodic maintenance (inspection and analysis of equipment with associated adjustments), corrective maintenance (troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of malfunctioning equipment) and certification. ATSS’s may also assist in the design, development, and evaluation of new types of electronic equipment. ATSS’s could be involved with not only electronic equipment but also lighting aids and environmental support equipment for the NAS.

Many ATSS’s work out of offices located at or near airports and service equipment located on airports, in Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT), in open fields or even on remote mountaintops. It is often necessary to drive significant distances (100-200 miles) to reach facilities. ATSS’s also work in Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC) maintaining equipment within the facility. ATSS’s may be required maintain entire facilities, including electronic equipment, electrical power distribution, emergency backup power, power conditioning systems, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC); electronic equipment only; or power and HVAC only.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants applying for these positions must possess experience as technicians, instructors, inspectors, or mechanics (civilian or military) which shows progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory and of characteristics, function, operation and capabilities of a variety of types of electronic equipment, electrical power distribution systems, emergency backup power systems, power conditioning systems, or HVAC systems. This experience must have included the use of schematic diagrams, varieties of test equipment, and the application of appropriate electronic/electrical-mechanical formulas involved in such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, constructing, developing and/or instructing on the above listed systems/equipment, or similar functions.
OR
Experience that provides a basic knowledge of the principles of electronics, mathematics, computers, aeronautics, or related areas, and/or an understanding, both theoretical and practical, of automated systems operations, integration, management, and maintenance. Experience may have been gained in one or more occupations including, but not limited to computer specialist, electronics technician, telecommunications specialist, engineer, etc.
OR
Experience in developing policies, standards and procedures for maintenance, installation, or similar functions provided the work clearly shows that the applicant applied specialized knowledge of the theories and principles of a variety of electronics systems/equipment, electrical power distribution systems, emergency backup power systems, power conditioning systems or HVAC systems.

Position requirements (not all inclusive): Serving as the State/Territory’s focal point for assisting Guard and Reserve service members in finding career employment opportunities through the Hired2Heroes (H2H) programs, including use of the H2H.jobs web-based application, job fairs sponsored by partners and alliances and other recruiting activities; Provide employment preparation and job referral assistance (resume writing assistance, editing, interview prep, dress for success, etc) to RC service members, spouses and veterans; Plan, coordinate, conduct, participate and evaluate statewide employment initiatives involving RC leadership along with Federal, State, and local agencies and employers; Ensure Guard and Reserve Components commanders and service members are kept informed and involved with EIP and H2H, to include conducting briefings at pre and post-deployment events and ensuring service members have access to H2H kiosks; Interface and coordinate with employers to assistance in their recruitment efforts by providing qualified RC Service members, spouses, and Veteran candidates; Maintain strong relationships with local State and Territory ESGR committee, working closely with and supporting their employment outreach efforts, to include participation in weekend activities such as Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, H2H EIP, ESGR events, and RC Unit Training Assemblies (UTA) and job fairs; and, maintain cooperative working relationships with state and federal governmental agencies and veterans’ offices that hire, train, or place service members with employers; Submit regular and special reports to the HQ, ESGR EIP Office and other organizations, as identified related to achievement of objectives and goals, program execution and recommendations for improvement of EIP initiatives; Comply with the policy guidance and standards as established by the FEPP EIP Office; Perform other duties that are prescribed by appropriate authority.

Qualified applicants should have a working knowledge of FEPP missions and programs, to include the Employment Initiative Program (EIP) and Heroes2Hired (H2H) website application; experience in civilian or military personnel management; strong personal organization and communication skills (oral, writing and experienced public speaker); an understanding of industry’s labor force specialties (e.g. manufacturing, transportation, finance, etc.) and correlation to military skill identifiers; proficient with Microsoft programs and social media outlets; meet Department of Defense security standards for issuance of a Common Access Card; and, be willing to travel as necessary to execute the ETC’s responsibilities.

Appliance Park (Kentucky) - Hiring New Manufacturing Production Workers


GE Appliances will accept applications for Appliance Park hourly
manufacturing positions beginning on Thursday August 2 2012 at 6:30 am and will close once 10,000 applications have been received.


All applications must be submitted online: www.geci.selectapplication.comPaper applications are not available and applications will not be accepted at GE Appliance Park.

Individuals should not call or visit Appliance Park with inquiries. Please be aware that our application process allows an individual to apply no more than once per application period, which is 12 months. Therefore if an individual applied in September 2011 or March 2012, they will not be allowed to submitanother application.

Job Criteria:
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or GED equivalent
• Must have a stable job history
• Must speak English proficiently and have the ability to follow
verbal and written instructions in English
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred

General duties:
Perform assembly operation of a repetitive nature requiring the handling of
heavy parts and/or responsibility & skill to transfer, operate, or adjust
production equipment. Job will require employee to rotate between various
production assignments. May use a wide range of hand & power tools to
assemble, check, adjust or repair on assigned jobs.

The starting rate for Manufacturing Production Workers is $13.56 per hour. The majority of our openings will be on 2nd shift, which will receive a $1per hour night shift bonus. Employees hired will be eligible for healthcare and retirement-savings benefits immediately.
