Lecture - Securing Federal Employment
PRESENTER:
Siggy Letheby, a retired USMC First Sergeant, is the Recruitment Coordinator, for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management, Department of Labor, in Chicago.
LOCATION:
Siggy Letheby will be holding a briefing for soldiers, and their spouses, at the Joint Simulation Training and Exercise Center Auditorium, Thursday, 17 November 2011 from 1300hrs to 1530 hrs.
SUBJECT MATTER:
Mr. Letheby will be presenting information to increase chances of securing Federal Employment. Tailoring an employment search to Federal Government rules will increase ones chances of being hired for a Federal position. A number of topics discussed will be:
1) How to search job openings
2) Decoding vacancy announcements
3) Understanding special Veteran hiring authorities
4) Information on the Federal Job Hiring Reform
5) Creating a Federal resume and submission
6) Required additional documentation
