MilitaryOneSource JFSAP Consultant JOB AVAILABLE

Job Description:
A Military OneSource (MOS) specialist will be located in Indianapolis, IN, at each Joint Family Support Assistance Program (JFSAP) location and become a state/regional expert on the resources available in the communities where Service members and their families reside. MOS together with Military HOMEFRONT will develop an electronic web-based tool (e.g. chat room, bulletin board, etc) for each JFSAP and/or unit to link dispersed families to each other, within or across states.

The incumbent together with the other JFSAP consultants will create a "high-tech, high touch" web-enabled united community to connect military families with each other and with supportive resources 24/7.

The incumbent will travel throughout the state as appropriate to meet with families and unit family support staff to assess needs, form relationships with community resources, and provide or refer to services via a warm "hand-off."

Major Responsibilities:
* Build coalitions, coordinate with and connect Federal, state, and local resources and non-profit organizations to support Active Duty, Guard and Reserve families; Coordinate and plan service delivery under direction of the National Guard Joint Force Headquarters Command (JFHQ) J-1 and the State Family Program Director (SFPD).
* Connect families with trained financial counselors who will provide personal and family financial management education.
Assist Service members and families with personal financial readiness, credit
* Increase awareness of Active Duty/Guard/Reserve members and families to existing family assistance services and resources, including MOS resources
* Inform leadership and service providers about the range of available programs and services, and how they may be accessed
* Integrate services and programs into a comprehensive delivery system that responds to the needs of members and families at all stages of the deployment cycle and provides:
* Serve as regional expert on resources available in communities where members and families reside
* Explore discounts for military families with community organizations and businesses
* Identify, catalog (hard copy and electronic) and market resources available to members and families;
* Prepare hard-copy and electronic marketing materials that describe available resources
* Work with MOS to build child care capability and provide resource and referral to meet the child care needs for full-day, part-day and respite care.
* Explore funding sources to "buy down" the cost of childcare
* Expand partnerships to bridge the gap between need and current program delivery
* Expand weekend, respite, and short-term programs and services
* Provide information about on-base MWR resources (fitness, sports and recreation; entertainment; lodging; exchange and commissaries); provide the same information about off-base community resources including those that offer discounts to military families.
* Establish working relationships with key contacts within your assigned region/state.
* Identify databases and information that needs to be developed to meet needs at the state and/or regional level, help identify and/or respond to concerns of participating states/regions and provide subject matter expertise.
* Obtain immediate information on crisis events from component or site POC to have the latest approved information for release to callers inquiring about local or national crisis response services.
* Send monthly report to main contact and schedule time to review contents. Each month provide a summary of the monthly highlights.
* Conduct an initial report review with every POC to be sure they understand how to read and pull information from the report.
Qualifications:
* 4-year college degree preferred or job related work experience.
* 5 years prior military experience as an Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve member, as a spouse of or civilian experience.
* Knowledge of armed services programs (military departments and family service type programs)
* Knowledge and experience in program marketing
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including an superior ability to brief senior officers and other key constituents
* 3 years project / program management experience preferred
* Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Flexibility and resiliency are key traits for the successful candidate
* A valid drivers license is required.

GAP Solutions is looking dedicated candidates to provide support to a Military Federal Services program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide Soldiers and Family Support services including direct day-to-day support to Soldiers and Family members and liaison with other support entities including Rear Detachments, Family Readiness Groups, Family Assistant Centers, and Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve representatives.
* Provide Soldiers and Family Support services including direct day-to-day support to Soldiers and Family members and liaison with other support entities including Rear Detachments, Family Readiness Groups, Family Assistant Centers, and Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve representatives.
* Provide guidance, assistance, and day-to-day support to the Army National Guard Soldiers and Families.
* Provide assistance in the development and implementation of the Command’s Soldier and Family wellbeing, and deployment cycle support. Maintains an up-to-date Family support, benefits, and readiness library (directives, policies, regulations and program materials).
* Coordinate all aspects of the Yellow Ribbon Program.
* Provide necessary assistance to units and/or individuals to ensure accomplishment of all SCS tasks during the appropriate phases of the deployment cycle.
* Assist the command leadership in providing all required briefings in each phase of the deployment cycle.
* Identify individuals requiring monitoring, follow-up or referral and coordinate with the appropriate internal points of contact to ensure necessary care/actions are provided/taken. Coordinate with state Family assistance centers for referral.
* Provide assistance to Rear Detachment Commanders in identifying and following through on Family programs issues, single returnee, R&R leave, emergency leave, and medical holds/issues. Identify potential Family issues awaiting returning Soldier, identify Family members who have experienced significant problems (financial, emotional and relational) during the deployment, and ensure RDCs are informed.
* Provide assistance to the command leadership in ensuring that tasks not accomplished in the redeployment stage in theater are completed and documented in the post-deployment stage.
* Develop a post-deployment reunion plan and assist the command leadership in providing reception activities, briefings, training, and spouse/Family education.
* Coordinate with the state Employer Support of Guard and Reserve point of contact on any employer issues relative to Soldiers and/or their Family members within the command. Provide information to command leadership and follow-up as required.
* Serve as the conduit for command information and coordination pertaining to Yellow Ribbon throughout the command. With command guidance, develops the Commander’s Reunion and Reintegration communication plan which includes a rigorous Family outreach program.

Qualifications

* Must demonstrate a working knowledge of military wellbeing programs, Yellow Ribbon (Reunion / Reintegration) programs, and the deployment support cycle requirements.
* Must possess broad based knowledge, experience, and skills in the areas of military personnel, human resources, and Family programs as well as understanding of the Army National Guard.
