Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC)

MUTC has ASOS opportunities for INARNG soldiers from 1 July through 30 September.

The following are the preferred MOS’s: 88M, 92A, 92F, 92, 21W, 21E, 21J,68W; personnel with other MOS’s are still encouraged to apply.

We are also seeking construction experience (civilian construction experience will be considered).



Looking for personnel who have Fire Fighter 1 & 2 certifications, EMT is a plus.



MUST be available to MUTC from 1 July 2011 through 30 September 2011.



MUTC will make every attempt to allow soldiers to attend IDT, if soldier has not attended AT this year. It is our preference they can be exempt from unit AT.

SHIPPING CLERK


Identify, assemble, package and label items for shipment according to shipping agent and customer specifications. Duties also include receiving material, checking for quality, and coordinating final delivery. Communicate through in-house software, electronically, and via phone with shipping companies, customers, and coworkers. Responsible for packaging, counting, storing, replenishing, and rotating stock in the warehouse or stockroom on a daily basis.

The perfect candidate will be self-motivated, able to use time management skills and prioritization skills to accomplish tasks independently and under deadlines. A detail-oriented person who is able to clearly and precisely communicate via various forms of communication (telephone, email, in writing, etc). Minimum Requirements:

PURPOSE OF POSITION/SUMMARY:
Incumbent serves as the Protocol Officer for the Indiana National Guard. The incumbent is responsible for the management, direction and coordination of all aspects of the Protocol Program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible to plan, direct and coordinate the Protocol Program; develops and evaluates short and long‐range plans for program goals to insure feasibility, efficiency and economy; • Insures adequate preparation time and resource availability to support the protocol program; recommends alternative actions as needed; • Analyzes military regulations, both procedural and substantive, to determine their intent and establishes local procedures to coincide with and in accordance with them; • Provides advice and assistance to The Adjutant General for activities (i.e., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Visitors Bureau, Family Support Groups, Retired Officers' Associations, etc.) on all aspects of the Protocol Program; • Attends conferences and meetings concerning visits, official social functions and visits of high level dignitaries; • Obtains necessary details for forthcoming visits of dignitaries; develops proposals for itineraries based on purpose of the visit and special items of interest to the visitor including all requirements and details; coordinates with interested/affected parties, personally briefs the Command Group and other key individuals and submits proposals to The Adjutant General for approval; upon approval, distributes itineraries for implementation to affected personnel; • Directs or personally coordinates details (i.e., menu selection, guest list, billeting, tours, transportation, security, etc.) to ensure all aspects of the projects are fully planned; • Schedules all official and social events, maintains a master schedule of subject events, assuring that schedules do not overlap and takes prompt action to resolve any conflicts due to unexpected changes in schedule; • Serves as the Flight Coordinator in coordination with the State Aviation Officer and the Commander of the Army Aviation Support Facility; Receives, reviews and processes all installation requests for Operational Support Airlift (OSA) Flights; Notifies requesting activities of approval/disapproval of requested flights and of changes/cancellations; • Has periodic responsibility for supervising the work of personnel engaged in support functions (Escort Officers, drivers, etc.) necessary for the successful performance of the Protocol Program; • Serves as state point of contact for the National Guard Association of Indiana, National Guard Association of the United States, Association of United States Army, The Adjutant General's Association and other military affiliated associations/organizations; • Provides administrative and operational support for Federal and State legislative events such as the annual breakfast and information update; • Serves as program manager for General Officer mandays and travel activities and manages the federal funds appropriated for these activities, with the administrative assistance of The Adjutant General's secretary and administrative assistant.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/DIRECT REPORTS:
The incumbent reports directly to The Adjutant General.


DIFFICULTY OF WORK:
Guidelines are in the form of regulations, manuals, policy statements, protocol pamphlets and etiquette books. Guidelines are detailed and easily understood, however, because of the varied assignments and situations that occur, they do not always apply.
Therefore, the incumbent must develop and/or adapt guidelines and rely on personal judgment to effectively carry out the work. The incumbent uses analytical methods to recognize a wide variety of situations affecting military protocol and to research, develop, write and direct protocol procedures. The work affects the effectiveness of the Indiana National Guard relations with visitors at higher levels in National Guard Bureau/Department of the Army and with visitors from other services.


RESPONSIBILITY:
The work involves overall responsibility for the Protocol Program. The supervisor provides guidance in terms of overall objectives, resources available and scope of operations of the Protocol Office and relies upon the incumbent to plan and direct accomplishments of the objectives, priorities and expressed desires of the Headquarters staff. The incumbent is responsible for planning and carrying out all phases of the program and handling problems and deviations in accordance with standing instructions. The incumbent assumes the delegated authority to make decisions and commitments in all instances except those requiring personal decisions by The Adjutant General, Chief of Staff and/or the Secretary to the General Staff.


PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
Contacts are with high level military and civilian officials, specialized groups or individuals where the contact is not routinely made and with staff members of the visiting dignitaries’ office. Contacts are made for the purpose of planning, coordinating and securing information, resolving administrative problems associated with coordination of visits, events, tours, etc., and advising others on correct protocol for specific events. Daily contacts with the Chief of Staff, Public Affairs Officer and The Adjutant General's administrative assistant are for coordination of activities.


PHYSICAL EFFORT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Incumbent is required to do a lot of walking, standing and bending and carrying of light objects in the performance of duties. Work is performed in an office setting the majority of the time. However, social functions and military ceremonies may be outdoors. Duties require a varied schedule frequently working on weekends and evenings.
