USO Director of Indiana Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for leading organization dedicated to providing morale, welfare, and recreation-type services to our military men and women and their families in the State of Indiana. Individual must have extensive leadership, management and communications skills.

The Executive Director must be able to build effective collaborative partnerships with the USO Board of Directors as well as develop a strong partnership with corporate, community and military leaders within Indiana. The ideal candidate will also have executive management and fundraising experience, be results oriented, and have a deep passion for the military.

The USO has been serving the Uniformed Military since 1941

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Executive Director will have the primary responsibility for leading and promoting the state organization, working closely with the USO of Indiana Board of Directors, staff and committee chairs. The Executive Director is a direct report to the President and CEO of the USO of Indiana, Inc. Staff, center coordinators and committee chairs are direct reports to the Executive Director. He or she needs to have the proven leadership skills that can implement the goals and objectives of the USO of Indiana, build partnerships to achieve its mission and vision, while meeting the annual goals and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and promote USO of Indiana organization.
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with corporate, community, and military leaders in the state.
• Build strong and effective communications and collaboration with the USO of Indiana Board of Directors.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies for corporate partnerships/sponsorships and individual gift donors.
• Maintain a close positive relationship with USO Arlington.
• Guide the organization in the development, implementation, and management of long-range and annual operational plans.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Extensive leadership, management and communications skills.
• Executive management experience with nonprofit organizations.
• Experience collaborating effectively with board members.
• A deep passion and commitment to the USO of Indiana and the Military.
• Experience with volunteer recruitment and management.
• Executive level strategic planning and business management skills.
• Experience in fundraising to include capital campaigns, corporate partnerships and development of nonprofit foundations.
• Ability to build strong collaborative relationships and teams.
• A results oriented self starter able to work independently.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools.
• The ability to travel as required.

COMPENSATION
The salary range is $40,000.00 to $50,000.00
In addition to the base salary, there are possible performance bonuses based on the achievement of the annual goals and financial health of the organization.
