3 Shift Managers Positions Northwest

Shift Manager- Operations (Coke and Iron Division)
Our Gary Works facility, located in Northwest Indiana has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager to handle various aspects of primary operations and to supervise and lead a team of unionized operation forces.


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Administration of the safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including proper housekeeping
-Application of engineering principles and problem solving techniques to evaluate and resolve operating issues to maximize efficiencies
-Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures for assigned division
-Coordinate production of manufacturing with production staff
-Directly supervise union production staff, and work closely with vendors and contractors as necessary
-Ensure environmental compliance
-Other administrative activities may include scheduling/paying crews, completing production reports, and other reporting as necessary.
Requirements:
-High School Diploma or GED required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in Engineering discipline or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge in a heavy industrial environment.
-Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience working in an industrial environment.
-Experience in heavy manufacturing with an overall knowledge of iron producing, cookery, annealing, and foundry a plus, but not required.

Shift Manager- Operations (Midwest Plant)
Our Midwest facility has immediate openings for Shift Managers to handle various aspects of finishing operations and to supervise and lead a team of unionized operation forces in our Midwest Sheet Products Division.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Administration of the safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including proper housekeeping.
-Application of engineering principles and problem solving techniques to evaluate and resolve operating issues to maximize efficiencies.
-Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures to produce sheet products.
-Coordinate production of manufacturing with productions staff.
-Directly supervise union production staff and work closely with vendors and contractors as necessary.
-Ensure environmental compliance
-Other administrative activities may include scheduling/paying crews, completing production reports, and other reporting as necessary
Requirements:
-Experience in heavy manufacturing operation
-Knowledge of steel making and manufacturing operation
-High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline desired or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing operation in a heavy industrial environment
-Minimum 2 years working in an industrial maintenance atmosphere
-Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required

Shift Manager- Maintenance (Sheet Division)
Our Sheet Products division has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager to handle various aspects of maintenance. Principal products include sheet products that are organized into distinct sections for Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, and Coated Sheet products.


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-Administration of the safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including proper housekeeping, communications to direct reports, enforcement of rules and policies, investigating and installation of safety improvements.
-Application of engineering principles and problem solving techniques to evaluate and operating issues to maximize efficiencies, analyze delay failures to prevent reoccurrences, improve overall performance of equipment as it relates to safety, environmental, quality and productivity issues.
-Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures and maintenance schedules to follow, improve and develop preventative and routine maintenance programs.
-Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with mechanical/electrical maintenance staff for both downturns and major outages.
-Directly supervise union mechanical and electrical maintenance staff, and work closely with vendors and contractors as necessary.
-Ensure environmental compliance. Other administrative activities may include scheduling/paying crews, completing maintenance reports, and other reporting as necessary.

Requirements
-Minimum 2 years working in an industrial maintenance atmosphere.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology discipline or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge of electrical maintenance in a heavy industrial environment.
-Experience in heavy manufacturing with an overall knowledge of electrical maintenance
-Strong background in the maintenance and repair of operating equipment.
-Knowledge of control circuitry, print reading and motors
