Muncie Railroad firm needs 70 Welders**

In an article in the Indianapolis Star, Progress Rail Services, the Alabama-based division of Caterpillar, has posted openings for welders and other positions. At this moment, there are 70 welder positions to be filled immediately. The jobs are listed on WorkOne’s website at www.indianacareerconnect.com . The company plans to begin production at the former Westinghouse/ABB facility by the third quarter of 2011. The welders who are hired will go through a three-week course taught by Ivy Tech Community College and paid for by WorkOne, to acquaint them with welding techniques necessary for Progress Rail products. The welding jobs pay $12 to $14 an hour. Other jobs to be filled in the coming weeks include assemblers and leadership positions.
